1. GREEN SMOOTHIE FOR DIABETICS

This smoothie is easy and quick to prepare and its’ requirements are readily available.

GREEN-SMOOTHIE

Requirements

  • 1 pear
  • 2 cups water
  • 2-3 cups lightly packed baby spinach leaves (preferably organic
  • 1/2 to 1 banana
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1-2 tbsp chia seeds (soak in 2 cups water for a while)

Method

Cut the spinach into small pieces. Soak the chia seeds in two water cups for a while. Slice the pear into small pieces and sprinkle them over the spinach leaves. Blend the banana until soft and smooth and add some cardamom to it and stir to taste. Remove the soaked chia seeds and sprinkle them over the spinach and pear pieces. Add all the ingredients to the banana and blend until smooth. Serve once smooth and soft. This recipe requires organic spinach leaves and is eaten raw with a few seasoning spices of choice.

Smoothie recipes are important and nutritious due to these reasons.

2. CHICKEN SOUP WITH SPINACH

Originally this meal is enjoyed in many Italian families. Skinless and boneless chicken are most preferred, canned beans and spinach leaves for this tasty and healthy diabetes recipe.

CHICKEN-SOUP

Ingredients

  • Ground pepper
  • Clove and garlic
  • Carrot
  • Olive oil
  • Basil leaves
  • Parmesan and cheese

Cooking

Heat two table spoons olive oil in a lightly heated pan add the chicken and carrots. Add garlic after about 5 minutes and stir for about 5 minutes until evenly distributed. Scrape down basil and Parmesan and add to the broth together with vegetables. Add the pepper for seasoning as you stir gently. Add a good amount of water for soup and salt then leave to boil for a few minutes. This sweet ingredient does not need to include chicken skin as it contains carbs which is not ideal for diabetic patients.

3. DEVILLED EGGS

Devilled eggs are the most ideal foods for cocktail; parties and requires no silverware. They can both be eaten for lunch and dinner meals. This recipe has many variations but this one is the basic one simple and easy to cook.

DEVILLED-EGGS

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/3 cup of Mayonnaise
  • Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper
  • ¼ Tablespoon of pepper
  • Mince
    d onion and Shallot
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard

Method

Ensure the eggs are hard boiled in clean water. Peel off the eggs gently to avoid damaging them and slice each egg in half. Gently remove the half yolks and place them in a bowl. Arrange the egg whites on a serving plate. Mash up the yolks using a form and add mustard, Mayonnaise, onion, tobacco and sprinkle good amounts of pepper and salt. Add the egg yolk mixture contents and sprinkle with paprika before serving.

4. TURKEY BURGERS WITH FETA CHEESE

These burgers are loaded with flavors and are leaner than red meat, easy and relatively quick to make.

TURKEY-BURGERS

Ingredients

  • A pound of ground turkey breast
  • ½ Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 oz of feta cheese
  • 4 toasted whole wheat hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato and red onion
  • 1/3 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sauce

Method

Combine the chopped parsley, turkey, salt, black pepper, sauce, mustard, garlic and cheese. Divide the mixture into 4 equal sized burgers. Broil to cook for about 15 minutes. Add the onions, lettuce tomatoes and the content in between buns and your delicious burgers will be ready.
