How to Brush

If you’ve teeth with braces, wires, springs or rubber bands you must take extra care of your teeth. Regular brushing is more important than other care. The dentists recommend brushing twice if have braces. Brush your teeth gently down from the top and then up from the bottom on your each line. If you can afford manage a proxbrush, a brush specially designed for cleaning tooth braces, to clean your teeth between two braces. The brush you use should be soft and dentist recommended.

How to floss

Flossing is another important care of teeth with braces. When you eat foods, some food particles may have gotten stuck in your braces or tooth bends. Regular flossing can clean out the food particles. Now, put a short end of floss through the gap between the braces and then gently sawing the motion to clear out the particles. Be careful when pulling down the floss to clear out things from the gap of the teeth.

Be careful from damage

Your teeth may fall into serious damage if you’re not careful enough when eating hard foods like raw carrot, nuts, guavas, candies or other hard foods. Chewing hard food can be the cause of serious damage that is difficult and expensive to fix up. Chewing hard foods may displace the braces that in turn may cause of permanent tooth damage.

Not only chewing hard foods, your teeth with braces may fall into damage if you like to participate in sports that have the possibility to blow to the mouth.  Using specially designed mouth guard is the best idea to protect your teeth from potential play time hits.

Avoid risky foods

There are some certain foods that are always risky for your teeth if you have braces. People with orthodontic treatment should avoid foods that tend to leave crumbs between the spaces of the braces. Some acidic foods may cause cavities in the teeth. Different kinds of soft drinks, sports drinks, frizzy or carbonated beverages and even some fruit juice can have an acidic impact on your teeth.  So, foods with acidic impact should be avoided including fruit juice altogether.

Go for regular check up

It’s your teeth, the most usable body part. So, the more you tend to use them the more the possibility of falling in the risk. To avoid serious dental damage during orthodontic treatment you should have a regular dental checkup.
