What is insulin?
Diabetes is very common condition, but we are not aware that there are different types of diabetes that can occur in different people. Before telling you, a different type of diabetes let me explain you something about main hormone that is insulin. Insulin is a hormone that in normal people produces by the body and keeps on doing it work that is conversion of starch and other nutrients into energy components. However, that is the main cause of the problem in diabetic people that it either doesn’t exist or not perform its function properly.
What different types of diabetes?
There are two main types of diabetes that are named as type I and type II and third type of diabetes that exists in pregnant women are called as gestational diabetes. Type I diabetes basically occurs in either young children or in young adults. In this type body does not produce insulin, so as results the functions which are normally performed by insulin, will not be performed? However, this type of diabetes is rare and only incorporates 5 %. Management of type I can be possible by proper insulin therapy, in this way we can provide insulin from outside and can maintain normal processing.
Different types of diabetes: Management of Type I diabetes
This type of diabetes also called as juvenile diabetes, however great deal of care is required in such patient because mostly these people are young and don’t know how they can manage or control their sugar level. Thus, parents should be careful in giving medicine or insulin at a time, to prevent illness especially when kids are school going. One thing that should be kept in mind regarding type I diabetic patients is that, it is not treatable it will continue throughout their life. What we can do is proper care and therapy to improve the quality of their life.
Life of Type I diabetic patients:
These people can live a healthy and happy life if get proper support from their health providers and parents. This type of diabetes can also run in family, thus for every new born test should be done so care can be taken from the scratch. Some type of dietary precautions are also there to control sugar level, because when insulin is not working glucose will not be convert into energy and remain as such in blood, thus increase the quantity of glucose can lead to problem. However parents should not be disheartened as these diseases is not killing or life threatening.
